Meta Losing Battle for User Retainment Against TikTok

Meta is planning to launch artificial intelligence-powered chatbots with different personalities to increase engagement on its social media platforms. The main goal is to provide users with a new search function, recommendations, and a fun product to interact with. Meta aims to retain users and compete with platforms like TikTok while also collecting more user data for targeted content and advertisements.

However, there are concerns about privacy and potential manipulation associated with these chatbots. Other tech companies have already introduced similar chatbots with personalities. Meta plans to address potential issues by implementing screening technology and ensuring accuracy and compliance in the chatbot outputs.

Google Uses Youtube as New Lab Rat for New A.I. tool

Google is currently testing a new AI-powered feature on YouTube, where automatic summaries for videos will be generated. These brief overviews aim to help viewers quickly decide if a video is worth watching or not. The summaries will only be shown alongside specific English-language videos and will be visible to a limited number of users on YouTube's watch and search pages.

However, they will not replace the existing descriptions written by humans. Google spokesperson Jen Jamie explains that they frequently experiment with new features before officially launching them to improve the user experience. The AI-generated summaries are expected to appear on mobile devices for English-language vlogs, shopping, and how-to videos.

The broader application of this feature could potentially impact how YouTube creators structure their content to cater to both human viewers and Google's AI. This initiative is part of Google's broader exploration of generative AI technologies, aiming to find practical applications for this emerging technology.

Uber is the Latest Tech Giant to Integrate A.I.

Uber is creating a smart chat assistant. Many companies are using this kind of technology to improve customer service and make things easier. The CEO of Uber, said they have been using artificial intelligence for a long time. They use it to match you with a car or a delivery person based on factors like the time of day and distance. Other delivery companies like DoorDash and Instacart are also working on their chatbots. Uber made a profit for the first time, but their revenue missed what experts expected, so their stock price went down a bit.
